Yesterday, the 23rd of July, 2025, was a special day. The Yemi Oshe Foundation visited four towns in Ekiti State (Àare-Ekiti, Orun-Ekiti, Igbemo-Ekiti and Afao-Ekiti) to support 200 widows with palliatives.
We gave out food items, clothes, and daily essentials to women who have lost their husbands—many of them struggling to survive alone.
From Àare-Ekiti to Afao-Ekiti, we saw women cry tears of joy, smile with relief, and pray with thankful hearts.
Widows Are Not Forgotten
In every town, we met strong women with painful stories—some had lost their husbands years ago and still struggle every day. Many are caring for their children and grandchildren with little help.
One woman in Orun-Ekiti said,
“I didn’t know anyone still cared. This means so much to me.”
Another in Afao-Ekiti told us,
“Mo ro pé mi o ni enikànkàn. Ẹ ṣé fún bí ẹ ṣe rántí wa.”
“I thought I was alone. Thank you for remembering us.”
A widow in Igbemo-Ekiti said,
“Ọlọ́run yóò bù kún yín. Ẹ ti mú ayọ̀ padà sí ilé mi.”
“God will bless you. You have brought joy back to my home.”
And one elderly widow in Àare-Ekiti whispered through tears,
“Ẹ̀bùn yìí wú mi lókàn gan-an. Mo mọ̀ pé Ọlọ́run ṣi ń tọ́jú mi.”
“This gift touched my heart. Now I know God is still watching over me.”
These words touched our hearts deeply.
Giving with Love
Each item we gave was shared with love. We packed every bag with care—not just to feed mouths, but to lift spirits. We want every widow to know: you are not alone.
This is part of our Widow Support Program—we go beyond just giving. We listen, we pray with them, and we let them know they matter
